Re: Friday hmmmm...

"Revisionist" is a label people give to new historical interpretations they
don't agree with. The same people call interpretations they DO like "a
brilliant new synthesis."

The readers of history are just as biased as the writers. And just as biased
the witnesses and makers of history, for that matter.

I've always enjoyed Shoe. Sadly, its creator, Jeff MacNelly, died last year.

Historical revisionism is nothing more than rewrites that reflect
contemporary ideas about events. They are subjective and biased, and must be
read, as all historical writing should, with a critical eye.

By the way: Shoe is one of the best comic strips (in addition to Boonedocks,
Foxtrot, and Doonsbury) in print today.

SHOE is a comic featuring birds working at a newspaper. A recent exchange
went something like this:

editor: History is written by the winners.
reporter: Then what do the losers write?
editor: The excuses.

Any comments???
