It looks as if you may have to rewrite the page for December 24. Recently,
literary analysis has suggested that the author of "A Visit from Saint
Nicholas" is probably Henry Livingston rather than Clement C. Moore. This
has been suspected for years, but while there is no documentary proof,
Livingston's authorship is really strongly implied by a study of both the
writings and the characters of the two men. Details of this study are
available in a new book by Donald W. Foster, called _Author unknown : tales
of literary detection_.
