Northeastern University Libraries, Archives and Special Collections
Department announces the availability to the public of the records of the AIDS
Action Committee of Massachusetts, Inc. The AIDS Action Committee (AAC) is
the oldest and largest provider of AIDS services in New England. In addition
to providing support services to people with HIV and AIDS, AAC educates
health care professionals and the public about HIV/AIDS and advocates for fair
and effective AIDS policies. The collection documents the history of AIDS in
New England and nationwide, AAC's prevention, education, advocacy, and
outreach activities, and AAC's growth from its founding in 1983 to the
present.

This collection was processed as part of a project funded by the National
Historical Publications and Records Commission to preserve the historical
records of the African American, Chinese, Latino, and gay and lesbian
communities in Boston, entitled Preserving the History of Boston's
Under-Documented Communities.
