Re: question for a labor archivist



Although I do not have "The Oxford English Dictionary" 20-volume set
handy-dandy here, it is probably the ultimate source of English language
word/word derivation. It is supremo, The King, Numero Uno of dictionaries in
the reference world. I suspect strongly you'll find an answer there. Larger
public libraries have this in their collection, or perhaps someone on the
listserve might. I have been absolutely amazed every time I have used it. If
stranded on a desert island, I would want this set of tomes with me.
