The funniest part about all those is that they were all probably *more*
secret than the Norden was, of course they didn't necessarily know that then
(I don't have the date on when Lang was caught).   In the long run, they
probably had as big, if not a bigger, impact on the war.

In its defense, the Norden did allow us to bomb from altitudes that AA guns
couldn't reach and other aircraft didn't normaly reach (especially the B-29,
which bombed from around 30,000 ft.).  For this reason the only gun on the
Enola Gay was a tailgun, all the others were stripped for weight because
they knew the only way they would get shot at is as they flew by/over and
enemy plane and a rear shot is all they would have, and probably need (they
had new electronic sighting equipment on the guns as well).
