Re: Exhibit Cases

Depending on your budget and energy level, you might want to have some cases custom desgined and fabricated. At Boston Symphony Orchestra's Symphony Hall, we recently completed the installation of an exhibit that included graphic panels and 12 cases for artifacts that were designed to blend in with the architecture of Symphony Hall. They are museum quality and are quite handsome. They look like they've always been there. We used a local exhibit design firm and a local fabricator.

I am seeking information , comments or recommendations from people who
have recently bought exhibit cases. We are looking to invest in a case
to display items from our archives, which needs to be movable, secure,
and flexible - capable of displaying a range of items: photographs,
manuscripts, chalices, vestments, etc. We have looked at a few cases in
catalogs such as University products, but the ones which best serve our
needs look like something for a high school hallway, not the undercroft
of a cathedral church.

As we prefer to buy locally, midwest suppliers would be best, but any
comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.
