Subject: Concern over lead results
Dear Group,
I am new to the group and was suggested to post for information
to help me with my research. I am research coinsultant working
on behalf of water compny looking at recent rise in lead levels
in water samples. Does any people know similar studies or information
on lead pipe deterioration causing to water contamination?
Thank you

some reference
information on this see

the problem we have is identifying this because of problemns in collecting
regular water samples for analysis
we have a large area to cover and high costs for administration and

Rajiv, you are not alone in dealing with problems of lead contamination and I will assume that
you refer to potable water as the main area for concern. Here in the UK the DWI Drinking Water
Inspectorate has responded to this problem by issuing new guidelines for sampling and reporting
of lead in 'clean' water,
New regulations will cut lead levels in drinking water

In response to your second point

I assume you are manually collecting samples for laboratory analysis and need to transport them,
monitor results and report on them? If this is the case you really need sampling system and
laboratory management system in place to handle this.
There are a number of products available to aid you here, one package I recall is from Trilogy
see http://www.trilogyenvironmental.com
I believe this package covers all typical requirements from sample scheduling and collecting to
laboratory anaylsis and reporting, and probably worth a look. You may need to check with them if
it will work in your country but I believe it is supported in most countries.
There are other suppliers of laboratory control systems which may be worth looking at (I think
one was called labcontroller but don't have details on this.
Regards
Dr Pippe
