Position Announcement
    Geauga County Archives and Records Center
    Assistant Archivist

            Responsible for archival processing of local government record
collections for retrieval and microfilming. Responsible for assistance in
records retrieval, transfers and accessions, management of inventories and
databases, training and management of students and volunteers. Coordinates
records disposal. Responsible for administrative duties including
accounting, ordering, inventory, committee assignments. Reports to the
Geauga County Archivist and Records Manager. Qualifications include:
Masters degree or two years' work experience with degreed professionals in
history, archival administration, or manuscripts processing; ability to
lift 40 pounds via box or book repeatedly while ascending and descending a
ladder; computer literacy, PC systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Salary:
$11.00 to $13.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience. 12-
month, full time administrative staff position of 40 hours/week with
