Blinds vs. window film

Hello all,

Our tiny Archives collection is housed in a small room that has a very large window. I'm sure that the afternoon sunlight that beats into the room cannot be good for archival material (box or no box), and have asked to get some blinds for the room.

Our Buildings and Grounds personnel have suggested "window film" which blocks UV rays. I read a little bit online, and its sounds impressive, but I wondered if anyone had any experience with this product.

You can respond to me off-list if you like.

Thank you,
Lisa
