Re: Filemaker vs Access - Duplicate record
Hi! I added a "copy record" button on my Access data entry form - not too hard and definitely saves a *lot* of time.
In design view, click the command button tool and drop it onto your form. The command button wizard gives you a box where you can choose Record Operations, then Duplicate Record. There are a few more questions to answer about how you want Access to handle the duplicate, and then you're set!
Hope this helps-

I use both, on both mac & pc. I am doing item level cataloging of all photo
negatives in a historic society on Access. I wish I had the "duplicate
record" tool that Filemaker has, which would be a huge timesaver for
multiple records of nearly identical items. Anyone know a workaround?
