Colleagues--
Augustana College Special Collections houses a bunch (I am reluctant to use the word "collection") of books designated "Rare to be Cataloged." Based on our limited expertise we think only some are rare and some need to be cataloged. There are around 4500 volumes, languages represented include English, French and Swedish, most volumes are from the 19th and 20th centuries. Can anyone recommend a consultant (perhaps a bookseller or a rare books librarian?) who would be able to determine what should be retained and cataloged by Augustana and what should be done with the remainder?
We will seek grant funding to finance this project and so we are also interested in advice on how long such a project might take and how much money we should seek.
Any help is gratefully received. Thanks.
