Society of CA Archivists Meeting



The Society of California Archivists will hold its 30th Annual General
Meeting April 26-28, 2001 at the Flamingo Resort Hotel and Conference
Center in Santa Rosa, California.  The program is designed to balance
archival fundamentals and digital issues.  Program topics include
preservation, XML, donor relations, managing and preserving electronic
records, establishing archives, EAD, documenting engineering and business,
reference practices, digital imaging projects, virtual archives, and
administering small archives.

Featured speakers include Sue Hodson, of the Huntington Library, who will
speak on California literary figure Jack London, and Susan Lee Johnson,
professor of history at the University of Colorado, Boulder, who will speak
on her recently published book, "Roaring Camp: The Social World of the
California Gold Rush."  The plenary session is entitled "Ishi's Journey
Home," and will explore issues surrounding the repatriation of Native
American remains.  The program can be found online at the Society of

Room reservations at the Flamingo Hotel should be made before March 26,
2001 to receive the special conference rate of $99.00 single or double.

Full registration fees are $85 members, $100 non-members, and $55 students.
 One-day registration is $50 members, $60 non-members, and $30 students.
Registration forms MUST be postmarked no later than Friday, April 6.  To
