Re: Quotations from great people about archives and archivists

Once I read a wonderful quotation from the 19th century French historian and
archivist Jules Michelet -- something like "We [archivists] are Death, for
all things come to us at last...." The entire quote was delightfully morbid.
Unfortunately, I never saw it again, and even after much looking in works by
and about Michelet, I never could find it again. Does this sound familiar to
anyone?

Hello List~~

Tanya Stepanova, our Library Assistant is searching for some quottes she can
use about archives and archivists, made by famous people. They can be form
any part of the world, and any help will be appreciated.

By the way . . . here is a scripture verse about archivists that I
discovered recently:
"But avoid foolish questions and genealogies . . . for they are unprofitable
and vain." Titus 3:9
