SOHA Annual Meeting



The Southwest Oral History Association will be holding its annual
meeting "Prickly Issues in Oral History," May 3-6, 2001, at the Fiesta
Inn in Tempe, Arizona.

In addition to panel sessions held all day Saturday and for half a day
on Sunday, May 5 and 6, there will be three workshops held on Friday,
May 4. Workshops include an all-day introduction to oral history for
those who are just getting started in oral history or for anyone
interested in brushing up on the basics.  There will also be two
advanced half-day workshops.  The morning workshop is "Negotiating
Pain: Eliciting Traumatic Memories in an Interview."  In the afternoon
the workshop is "Grant Writing: The Ins and Outs of Funding."  In
addition, there will be a Saturday Teachers' Workshop available for
teachers interested in planning and implementing oral history projects.

Highlights of the conference include the Frank Lloyd Wright Insiders'
Tour held on Thursday, May 3.  All attendees are invited to the Friday
evening Welcome Reception being held at the Arizona Historical Society
Museum.
