Re: time capsule
We are just now organizing a time capsule for 2050. It will be in
specially prepared niche inside the building, with a brass plaque (so we
hope it won't go missing in the next 50 years.) Our preservation officer
recommended appropriate archival containers/folders for each item;
putting all into an archival box; then putting that box into a
slightly larger archival box. She told us NOT to shrink wrap it - since
it will be in a relatively stable, climate controlled area. She strongly
recommended putting the final box on top of an inert platform - in case
moisture gathers on the floor of the niche. Periodic checking is a good
idea too.
