Fire Suppression Systems

Dear List,

I would appreciate hearing about any experiences with the installation of
fire suppression systems, particularly the pros and cons of Inergen gas vs.
water mist systems. I have already done some research in the listserv
message archives and NEDCC's Preservation of Library and Archival
Materials. Most postings about this topic are from the mid 1990s. Has
anyone compared systems more recently? Also, I found references to FM200
and FE13 as possible substitutes for Halon. Like Inergen, they are both
gases that are safe for use around humans and are non-ozone depleting.
Does anyone have further information - or know where to get further details
- about these gases?

I already know about the existence of the National Fire Protection
Association's guidelines for the protections of records and records
management and archives facilities, but have not checked them out yet.

Thanks for your advice, hints, suggestions and horror stories (hopefully
not too many of the latter)!
