Graduate Assistant Stipends
I'm curious about the stipends graduate assistants receive working in archival repositories. If you employ such students, are currently a GA working in a repository, or recently worked as a GA, could you please share:
The amount of your stipend,
The number of hours worked,
The duration of your assistantship,
And note any other relevant information.
For instance, here at the South Caroliniana Library, the typical assistantship:
pays $4,500 for 20 hours per week over a nine month school year, and students receive a significant tuition reduction, increasing the value of the assistantship markedly.
Thanks for any information you can share.
