Paid internship from Kansas City Area Archivists (KCAA)

Kansas City Area Archivists (KCAA)

Minority Internship-Summer 2001

KCAA is offering a paid internship Summer 2001 to a minority college or
university student interested in a career in archival science or a related
profession. The successful applicant will assist professional archivists
with the acquisition, appraisal, arrangement, description, and preservation
of unique historical documents. The administration of these materials will
acquaint the intern with the users-the historians, librarians, educators,
journalists, public administrators, geographers, archaeologists, and other
professionals-who are involved in the work of documenting the human
experience. The successful applicant will select the host institution from
participating KCAA member organizations.

The $1500 stipend is made possible through the generosity of Charles W.
Battey, the Hallmark Corporate Foundation, and the William T. Kemper
Foundation.

Minority applicants enrolled in a two or four-year college or university
program are eligible. Applicants should submit a résumé with cover letter
stating interest and qualifications, and the names, addresses and telephone
numbers of three references. The résumé and supporting material must be
postmarked for delivery no later than May 18, 2001.

Submit application materials to Amy L. Williams at the Harry S. Truman
Library.
