POSITION AVAILABLE - The Mount Sinai Archives of the Mount Sinai Medical
Center and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University.


PROCESSING ASSISTANT  (Temporary)

Under the supervision of the Mount Sinai Archivist, the Part-time
Temporary Processing Assistant will process the records of the President
of the Mount Sinai Medical Center.  The series consists of almost 80 feet
of material and dates from 1972-1983.  The Assistant will perform basic
processing and preservation activities and will create a finding aid at
the end of the project.  Hours are flexible, but must range from 15-20 per
week; pay is $15-20/hour, depending on experience.  There are no benefits.
It is anticipated that the project will last approximately 750 hours.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

        The candidate must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree and
have processing experience in an archives setting.  The candidate must
have completed the processing and description of at least one
institutional collection, with knowledge of archival processing and
description procedures as well as the preservation issues involved.

        Must be able to lift 25-30 lb. boxes on a regular basis.

        Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.

        Experience with Microsoft Office products desired.
