Glue

I am working on late 19th century commencement programs and am finding many
are glued to oaktag or old folders. This was probably done in the 1960's
as a way to save them. The backing is now yellowing and I would like to
remove the programs to prevent any further damage. I am not a conservator,
nor do we have any on staff. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thank you
