Re: Baker's book and what he really said



I would only say (admittedly, I have not read the book) that the buzz about
the book, and the focus of the interview I heard with him on NPR did not
focus on those points, rather on the failures of libraries and a vague sense
of conspiracy theories.  Considering the short attention span of the media
and the public, my concern is that the public will take away a sound bite
that "libraries are failing the public".

Most will not read the book, and the subtleties of the argument will not be
heard.
