The "road trip" song
The ultimate Road Tip song is by a band called Meal Ticket, called "Code of
the Road"
I think I've managed to remember most of it.
Accompanied by a single guitar, in flat-picking style
Don't ever eat at a joint called "Moms"
Never play cards with a guy called Doc
If you stop where the truck drivers stop
Keep your I.D. down in your sock
Never hitch a ride through Alabam without a fiver in your kick
Don't drink Old Spice after-shave, holy smoke it makes you sick
Stay out of Jefferson after dark, avoid it in the brightest day
In fact the best thing to do with Jefferson honey, is to point your feet the
other way
Never pick a fight with a one armed man
Cos whatever happens, buddy you lose
If they kick you out of the Teamsters Union
Hush your mouth, pay your dues
Never hop a freight when the signal's red, stay out of grape country in the
fall
In fact if you've got a brain in hour head, you'll never hit the road at all
