        On the other hand, they wouldn't have the items to photograph unless
you loaned them.  At the very least, your institution should receive a
credit line under the illustration.
        I can't provide an opinion on the financial question, but I would
certainly think that your institution should get a negative.  This
undoubtedly involves copyright of the photographer/publisher, etc.  Do you
have a legal department?  Definitely ask their opinion.
