Archival Education

Greetings to all,

In the past few weeks, I have received about 50 e-mails, both on and off the
list, about the matter of archival education and I wanted to share the
results. Many were sent from archivists from all walks of life, historians,
professors, professionals and other grad students. With the increased
interest in the preservation of electronic records, it was strongly
encouraged that instead of pursuing a second Masters in Information Science,
that substantial course work and internships relating to digitization and
E.R. would be more helpful. Overall, the combination of the MLS and a
second subject Masters, especially History, was considered better than the
getting dual Masters in Library Science and Information Science.
I wanted to thank you everyone who contributed, it made a difference.
