Firemen association

Has anyone heard of an organization called the National Association
of Firemen? It began in Chicago in 1898 with a mission "national in
scope, active in securing for the firefighters of the U.S. the benefits
by legislation they have so long needed..." I have a proceedings
from 1907-08 and I know it existed as late as 1920.

I've checked with the NFPA Library, the Chicago Historical Society,
the Evanston Public Library (my copy of the proceedings was
published in Evanston) and the International Association of Fire
Fighters. I'm trying to find out what happened to this organization.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
