Foxing

I found this information on foxing from the State Library of Victoria
website. I thought it was really helpful.

It says that foxing is caused by one of two sources, rust corrosion or mold
spotting, and both are results of high relative humidity. Chemical
treatments to remove such spotting are not recommended because they can do
further damage to book.
