Harvard Crimson archive news

** FW from news service **

By now Harvard may have learned its living wage lesson-but
have its students? The student paper, "The Harvard Crimson,"
(which ran editorials this spring in support of protests for a
living wage) will use low-cost labor in Cambodia to put its
entire archive online. The $500,000 project is massive: The
paper will create a free Internet archive of all material dating
back to its first edition, published in 1873. To complete it,
the paper's president signed a $45,000 contract that will pay
Cambodian workers 40 cents per hour to typeset the older
editions.
