metal shelving problem

We recently had an annoying problem crop up that I wonder if anyone else has
experienced: boxes started to stick to the baked enamel industrial shelving
in our offsite storage facility. These are the standard records cartons and
the same metal shelving we've always used, both here and offsite, the
shelving is at least 3 years old, the climate in the building isn't
particularly hot, cold, wet. or dry. Last summer, the boxes slid off the
shelves just fine, this year you have to practically rip them up. Any ideas?

Thanks!
