Re: RAIN 7/27: Univ of IA archives + stutterers



Several question arise: Does the university archives have an explicit policy
of banning journalists? How do they check one's credentials? Honor systems
are fine, but are usually worthless. Another question: although the author
was a student, does s/he not have the right to do some sort of investigative
writing on archival discoveries, even as a freelancer?

If the article's author signed a patron registration form on which there was
a restriction clause against journalists, I can see where the archive might
have a point, but...

I smell an ACLU lawyer approaching...
