Re: Help needed - promotion(?) opportunity

To be honest, I've not seen or heard of too many successful
archival operations when the archivist is also an administrator,
and here I gather, I mean having larger responsibilities that
take a great deal of time -- meetings, speaking, outreach,
fund-raising, etc. Since I often feel pulled different directions,
my personal inclination would be to decide which of the two
jobs I want -- archivist or managing director -- It sounds like
you would lose at least one position...so rather than two bodies
to handle the work, you'd be juggling two jobs.

If the director is what you personally want, go for it, but not at
the expense of not replacing the archivist position.

Just my two cents.
