Contingent upon funding, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,Transgender Historical
Society of Northern California will be hiring for the following positions:

1.  Special Projects Librarian.  This person will be responsible for
overseeing the Library Resources Project which will strengthen relationships
between California libraries with GLBT periodical holdings to increase public
access to these materials. The Special Projects Librarian will also complete
and encode finding guides to some of our archival collections.

Qualifications:  MLS with archives coursework and/or experience. Masters in
history preferred. Knowledge of California GLBT communities.  Familiarity
with OAC standards and EAD encoding experience.  Good writing and
communication skills and the ability to work with volunteers and diverse
communities.

Full-time, one-year position starting October 1, 2001.  Salaried position
with benefits.

2.  Library Assistant.  This person will assist the Special Projects
Librarian and Managing Archivist with library related duties including data
entry, cataloging and clerical needs.  Detail oriented, computer literate
person desired.  This position is 8 hours a week, $15 per hour, no benefits.
