Hobo Data Loggers

Kenneth,

We have been using the HOBO Data Loggers at The University of
Texas-Arlington Special Collections for about five months. We
started with two data loggers and last month added six more and a
shuttle to make it easy to down load the data.

They are much more accurate and versatile than the the older
mechanical types we used prior to deploying the HOBOs. They
give you the ability to set the sampling intervals (we have them set
at 30 minutes) according to your specific requirements, and the
information is presented in graph and print form. You can also
select the types of data displayed, such as relative humidity, dew
point in F or C, Temperature in F. or C. and other data that I am not
sure what they represent.

The shuttle is very easy to use as is the Boxcar Pro software that
runs the data loggers. It allows you to merge the data from
previous readings as well as zero in and magnify areas on the
graph that you may want to look more closely at.

They are physically small (smaller than a pack of smokes) so they
are easy to deploy and hide in areas where you may not want them
visible.

To this date we have not had any problems with them and the
information they provide has helped us present concerns to the
physical plant regarding the proper operation of the air conditioning
equipment serving our area.

To sum up, we are pleased with their performance and I
recommend you at least consider using them.
