Re: Linear Feet



I learned that 1 linear foot is simply 1 foot of shelf space. It doesn't
matter the number of documents or whether the folders in the box are
front-to-back or side-to-side (or top-to-bottom in the case of newspapers
stacked on top of each other). It's simply a way of giving a researcher a
general idea of the amount of records they will be dealing with, and as a
way of keeping track of overall shelf usage. And please, anyone, correct me
if I'm wrong. Joe
