Upcoming ARSC conferences

Reminder for upcoming ARSC conferences

IASA/ARSC joint conference, London, England, September 23-27, 2001

A reminder if you haven't yet registered that the joint conference of the
International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) and the
Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) is fast approaching. The
conference will be held September 23-27, 2001 at the British Library, 96
Euston Road, London. Registration, program and lodging materials are
available on the web at
http://www.bl.uk/collections/sound-archive/iasa.html. The conference will
bring together audio archivists, historians, discographers and collectors
from around the world. The program theme "Why Collect" features sessions on
discography, technical presentations and workshops, and a series of
sessions on collections and national and cultural identity.

ARSC Santa Barbara, California, May 8-11, 2002

ARSC is also pleased to announce that the 36th annual ARSC conference will
be hosted by the University of California, Santa Barbara from May 8-11,
2002. Please mark your calendars now and plan to attend ARSC's first west
coast conference since 1985. Papers and Session proposals are now being
