Re: "good" plastic vs. "bad" plastic



Polyester (one trade name for Dupont product is Mylar and Mylar type D is
the type commonly used for preservation enclosures), polyethelene and
polypropylene are all considered safe plastic for archival photos.
Polyvinyl chloride or PVC is considered bad for long term storage.   Also
some types of glassine envelopes and sleeves are acidic and therefore should
be avoided.
