Meet the Massachusetts Constitution



“MEET THE MASSACHUSETTS CONSTITUION”
LECTURE AT THE MASSACHUSETTS ARCHIVES 

Secretary of the Commonwealth William Francis Galvin announced today the
first talk in the Massachusetts Archives and Commonwealth Museum’s fall
lecture series. “Meet the Massachusetts Constitution” will be presented by
Professor Robert Allison on Saturday, September 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the
Massachusetts Archives on Columbia Point in Dorchester.  (220 Morrissey
Boulevard, Boston, MA 02125.)
 
 The Massachusetts Constitution, written in 1780, is the world’s oldest
still in use for governance and served as a model for the United States
Constitution.   The Constitution will be on display during the lecture.

Professor Allison teaches history at Suffolk University.  He holds a Ph.D.
from Harvard in the history of American civilization and regularly consults
on public history projects.
The program is free and open to the public. Parking is free, and the
building is handicapped accessible.  For additional information or a
