Re: What's a Primary Source?



I think the key word in Marcus' post was "essay."

To me, an essay is a personal opinion, therefore it is
autobiographical and should be considered primary.

But if Marcus is using "essay" to convey something like
when you obviously find an encyclopedia article online that
has been lifted and simply pasted on a page, then I would
take the "essay" to be secondary.     Since the internet and
web pages can be expressions of a person, they can indeed
be primary.
