Presents Its
Autumn, 2001 Workshop
Archives and the Internet:
An Introduction to Building and Maintaining a Website
HTML? XML? EAD? PDF? As researchers increasingly rely on computers to
unearth information, establishing an internet presence has become a
priority for many repositories. Instructor Dan Linke will explore a
variety of topics, including: an introduction to electronic standards and
their applications; the benefits and concerns of placing finding aids and
images on the Internet; staff skills required for ongoing maintenance of a
website and handling electronic reference requests.
Dan Linke is Assistant Archivist and Acting Administrator at the Seeley G.
Mudd Manuscript Library at Princeton University. His duties include
website design and oversight. Mr. Linke has presented papers and led
workshops on issues of archival practice and computing.
Date: Friday, November 16, 2001; 9:30am-4:30pm. Participants should arrive
by 9:00am. Lunch will not be provided, though morning refreshments will be
available.
Place: National Archives Northeast Region Office, 201 Varick Street, 12th
floor, New York City.
Directions: Take the 1 train to Houston Street; or take C/E to Spring
Street and walk north on Sixth Avenue, then west on Houston to Varick
Street.
WORKSHOP IS LIMITED TO FIRST 30 REGISTRANTS
Registration form and payment must be received by November 9, 2001.
Workshop fee is $55 for ART members; $65 for non-members. Send the

Archivists Round Table Workshop Refund and Cancellation Policy
Registrants canceling a registration must notify ART's Education
Coordinator in writing at least one week prior to the date of the workshop
to be eligible for a refund. No refunds will be given after November 9,
2001. If a workshop is cancelled, registrants will receive a full refund.
