Re: Friday Funny?

Service monkeys, usually Capucine primates if my failing memory serves me
correctly, are really nifty little helpmates, particularly for para- and
quadraplegic individuals. Those little critters, very agile, fetch objects,
turn on light switches, and really are a godsend to those handicapped. I
have seen them pictured with handicapped artists, for which many of us have
received greeting cards for charity.

While I worked in a public library, a patron one day brought in a machete,
removed it from a backpack, and proceeded to simply stare at it as it lay on
the desk. Calls to the police...? Well, he hadn't hurt anyone or 'done
anything'. Go figure. Thak you, I'll take just about any animal critter
any day than some dude with a machete.

Oh, this library mascot was a one-eyed tabby that everyone loved. A gentle
creature, quiet, slept a good deal of the time. I think it's name was
Library...

(I have an undergrad in animal science....sorry if I droned on).
