Alabama Archivists to Meet Nov. 9th



The fall meeting of the Society of Alabama Archivists will be held Friday,
November ninth in the Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences on the
campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Sessions will be presented on:
        "Implementing EAD: Design and Presentation"
        "What's Happening to Local Government Records in Alabama?"
        "Transforming America:  Alabama in the Civil Rights Movement:
Creating a Web-Based Union List of Collections Across the State"
        "Special Events at the Hoole Library:  Selling Special Collections"
        "Adventures in Scanning"

The Luncheon Speaker will be Christopher Scribner, Ph.D., journalist and
author of the forthcoming Renewing Birmingham: Federal Funding and the
Promise of Change 1929-1979 (Economy and Society in the Modern South),
University of Georgia Press, 2002.

The complete program and a registration form are available online at the
