Event - Glens Falls, NY
Free forum on sound and recording archives
The Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls will be
offering a free forum presented by staff of the Alan Lomax Archive at
Hunter College. It will be held at Crandall Library on Wednesday,
November 28, 2001 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Topics to be covered include
sound preservation and digital production, public database access,
licensing and royalties, genealogy for finding musicians' descendants,
and Alan Lomax's fieldwork recordings and photography. It is being
sponsored in connection with the Folklife Center's current exhibit,
"Musical Mosaic: Alan Lomax in Italy, Spain, West Indies, American
South; Field Photography and Recordings 1952-62."
