Presidential Clippings in search of a new home Quickly
I saw this on an H-Net announcement and do not recall seeing it on this list
-- but please excuse cross-posting if you have seen it. And do not reply to
me, I know nothing besides this announcement:
Library of Congress Presidential Candidates Clippings Files Seek a New Home
Location: United States
Website Date: 2002-02-07
Date Submitted: 2001-12-07
Announcement ID: 129241
This announcement is directed to interested parties who work in the areas of
politics and presidential elections, and who can arrange bulk transportation
of the said materials from Washington D.C. The Congressional Research
Service of the Library of Congress plans to discard a collection of
presidential candidates files from its former clippings library.
The files are organized by candidate name, and include major national
newspaper, magazine, and some journal articles for nearly all declared
presidential candidates from the early 1950s through the mid 1990s. Contents
include 15 boxes measuring 12" h. x 15" d. x 20" l. They are available to
any bona fide school, university, library, research institute, or scholar
who is willing to be responsible for their removal from the Library of
Congress in not less than 60 days, by February 7, 2002. Contact Thomas
Neale.
