Re: early friday funny

My favorite, but I don't remember which one it was in, was from a situation
here in Fort Worth. During one of our excessively "warm" summers, we had a
road buckle. The Fire Department was on the scene and a reporter asked one
of the firefighters what might have caused it. The person responded, "For
all I know it was a giant earthworm." Several weeks later, the headlines
came out, "Giant Earthworm Invades Southwestern City" (or something
similar). The story evidently included many more "details" than the actual
situation. I have regretted for years that I did not buy both the tabloid
and the newspaper to have comparison stories.
