Dear Colleagues:

I am currently processing a manscript collection
that contains a large amount of income tax
returns. These records date back to the 1910's,
so there is no need to retain them for audit
purposes. Since these documents provide personal
details regarding the finances of the subjects of
the collection, I am wondering whether or not it
is appropriate to retain the materials? What
privacy concerns should I be concerned about? If
I do retain them, should they be made available to
researchers? I appreciate any feedback you all
may have.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Laura Mancini
