RECORDS MANAGEMENT INTERMEDIATE LEVEL CERTIFICATE

RECORDS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION II
Examines strategic and program planning, including mission statements,
goals and objectives; marketing a records management program; policies
and procedures; and purchasing goods and services, including requests for
proposal.

VITAL RECORDS/DISASTER RECOVERY PLANNING
An overview of disaster prevention and protection planning followed by
response and recovery frameworks.  Covers the elements of integrated
disaster recovery planning.

Ottawa: Monday, February 5, 2002

ELECTRONIC RECORDKEEPING SYSTEMS
Deals with the management of electronic records, involving the records
manager at the design phase of the system.  Reviews standards and
discuss the systems that meet these standards.  Also discusses the
importance of metadata.

E-MANAGEMENT: THE FUTURE OF RECORDS, CONTENT,
KNOWLEDGE AND STRATEGIC INFORMATION
Examines the issues that are leading organizations to reposition the
records function. Looks at the components of  knowledge, strategic
information and content management programs; discusses the relationship
between them
and records management; identifies opportunities for information
management professionals to be leaders in the development of these programs.

MEETING YOUR EDMS/RMS NEEDS
Looks at the current business environment and some of the trends that will
affect record keeping in future. Reviews the differences between document
management and record keeping systems. Several record keeping software
packages will be demonstrated.

Students wishing the certificate must take all five courses and write a take-
home exam. Each course is also available on a stand-alone basis. As an
Intermediate Level program, registrants should already have a basic
understanding of records management functions.

Fee: $160 per course for ARMA members and $175 per course for non-
ARMA members. The exam fee is an additional $50.
