Minutes

Our Massachusetts municipal public library boards' minutes are
public. The notes used to create minutes are public. Minutes of open
meetings become public upon creation. There is no requirement that
these minutes be approved before they are made available to the
 public.

Municipal public library committees' minutes are public.

Denial of service is common at our municipal public libraries'
reference desks when it involves minutes. Public libraries' users,
public libraries' personnel and public libraries' unions collective
bargaining labor relations advocates have been denied access to
minutes in Massachusetts contrary to intellectual freedom principles.

How would the matter of access to our Massachusetts public libraries'
minutes be addressed by Massachusetts Commissioner Edward Bertorelli,
 MBLC Chair?...
