Re: antebellum banking transactions
Carol:
You might look up these terms in Black's Law Dictionary. Any larger library
should have a copy.

Subject: antebellum banking transactions
For a project related to the internal slave trade, we are trying to make
sense out of bank ledgers from the Bank of the United States, Natchez
office. The transactions are recorded for 1831 and 1832. Our questions
concern the relationships between "indorsers," "drawers," and those whose
accounts were "drawn on."
Can anyone help or give us a name of someone who might?
