Re: Citation re. "Post-it" damage

TAPPI, Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Indsuty, has reported
that (and it comes as no surprise), that 'repositionable notes' (e.g.,
Post-It Notes and its clones), leave much of the microspheric adhesive
residue on the paper. I read an abstract of an article published in one of
their proceedings. When the paper on which the note is fastened is ground
up, processed, etc., etc., much of the adhesive can be recovered from the
solution.

As for rusty paper clips and staples, down here in the South we save Dixie
cups....the South Shall Rise Again!

I don't save the masses of clips and staples, but I do have what a former
employer labeled "Julia's Historical Fastener Collection" a selection of the
variety of fasteners I've removed from collections I've dealt with. Some
are really rusty, some are unique shapes and actually pretty shapes.

Of course! Aren't we all counting the clips and staples we remove? (I've
saved about a quart of rusty paper clips and a quart of rusty staples to
use in a future art project - can't think of anything yet, but since those
things are so much a part of my life, I figure an idea will pop up
eventually.) Aloha, Ellen
