Re: replying to postings on the archives listserv



Ah, yes - the great "reply to" issue rears its ugly head once again.  The
list owners did poll the members at one time, and reported that the "reply
to individual" was the favored mechanism over "reply to list".   It was
postulated then that the majority of active posters voted for the list
reply (being a bunch of gregarious & nosy folks, we want to know what is
going on) and that the lurkers mainly voted for the individual reply option
(the better not to clog their inboxes).  Since lurkers outnumber posters by
about 25 to 1, the outcome was no surprise.  So stands the matter at this
time, and since the powers-that-be seem immune to our importunate pleas for
change, I suspect that we will not be seeing anything different for some
time to come.  :(
