Re: Photographic Duplicate Collections



I would think you would need to alter your Deed of Gift Form, but that you
do need something for two reasons:

1) to show that you have been given permission to use the photographs for
research purposes;
2) to show that you don't have permission to use them for other purposes (if
that is the case).  I'm thinking of sometime in the future, when
institutional memory fades and a curator thinks it's OK to publish some of
those photos, then gets sued by the family.  If there are limitations on
their use, it needs to be spelled out clearly and prominently, so they
aren't misused in the future.
